This course is ideal for mature students (aged 19+) with a keen interest in sport and exercise, who would like to study a related Higher Education course, such as a foundation degree in sports coaching and development, or sport and exercise science. You will study a range of units and complete graded assessments throughout the year in a range of formats, eg. practical observations, written assignments, tests and presentations.
You will study human anatomy, sport psychology, fitness and training and sports coaching, as well as undertaking a scientific project. The objective is to enhance your academic and vocational profile to facilitate progress to a higher level.
You will need GCSEs to include Mathematics and English (minimum grade C or equivalent) and be able to understand Science at GCSE level prior to enrolling on programme. You must also complete a diagnostic test.
Assessment is a combination of written assessments and assignments.
