This course includes practical and theoretical elements and is designed for those who want to work in the engineering industry as a technician covering a variety of Technical Support functions and undertake the best possible preparation to achieving Technician status within the industry.
During the course, you will study: Health & Safety in Engineering Workplace; Communications for Engineering Technicians; Complete a Project; Mathematics for Engineering Technicians; Properties & Applications of Engineering Materials; Business Operations in Engineering; Mechanical Principles & Applications.
Completion of this programme can lead to full-time employment as an Engineering Technician, following completion of work based learning (NVQ), or other options for further education such as a HNC qualification.
You will need GCSE’s including English and Maths (minimum Grade C). You must also be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week.
Assessment is a combination of practical observations within the workplace and online written assignments.
