If you want to progress in your career as a childcare practitioner in nurseries or within the Early Years Foundation Stage in schools, then this is an excellent way to develop your skills. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to support your career in this industry. It explores theoretically and practically the following topics : Child Development Theory and Application; Safeguarding; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; Health and Safety; Supporting Children’s Positive Behaviour; Planning and Implementing Play Activities, Communication, Professional Relationships and Developing Your Own Professional Development. The apprenticeship includes developing academic ability in ICT whilst recognising the importance of continually using your Maths and English skills within the workplace. It also includes preparation for employment and your personal learning and thinking skills. Upon sucessful completion you will have the skills and knowledge to gain employment within the sector.
You need a minimum of 1 year experience, to be employed for a minimum of 30 hours, have 4 GCSEs (minimum grade C), to include English Language and Mathematics and successfully complete a diagnostic assessment in ICT at Level 2.
Assessment is a combination of practical tasks, written assignments, oral discussions and online tests.
