If you wish to pursue a career in an exciting and diverse industry and are good with practical work and have an eye for detail, Furniture & Cabinet Making could be a great career for you. This course includes practical and theoretical elements of Furniture & Cabinet Making, providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to succeed.
During the course, you will study: health and safety; timber technology; sustainability; furniture making by hand; attaching fittings; design; drawing and career planning.
Successful completion of the course can lead to full time employment within the construction industry or as a self-employed cabinet maker, following the completion of a work based NVQ, or other options for further education such as an Advanced Apprenticeship.
You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week.
Assessment is a combination of practical observations within the workplace and online written assignments.
