If you want to pursue a career as a teaching assistant or learning support practitioner in schools, then this is an excellent place to start. This course will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to begin a career working in the education sector with children and young people. This course includes knowledge on child development, safeguarding, health and safety in childcare settings, equality, diversity and inclusion and practical aspects of communication, supporting learning activities and ensuring a healthy, safe and enabling environment. This apprenticeship also develops the knowledge for Employment Rights and Responsibilites, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and builds on your current English and Maths skills. Upon successful completion you may be able to progress onto the level 3 Apprenticeship or gain employment within the sector.
You must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours a week and successfully pass a diagnostic exam in English, Mathematics and ICT at Level 1.
Assessment is a combination of practical tasks, written assignments, oral discussions and online tests.
