These qualifications provide learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to use Computer Aided Design software to create objects in either 2D or 3D space.
Upon successful completion of this course, your knowledge in Computer Aided Design will be developed to a standard required for employment in any sector that uses technical drawings e.g. Mechanical Engineering; Building and Construction.
Following this programme, you will be able to: Be Able to Use a CAD Workstation Safely; Be Able to Use Key Components in 2D CAD Software; Be Able to Create Lines and Shapes Relative to Co-ordinate; Be Able to Use Text, Hatch and Simple Dimensioning Routines; Be Able to Output 2D Drawing Layout.
There are no formal qualifications required. However, a basic competency in the use of a PC computer and file management is necessary.
Assessment is through a combination of practical drawing tasks and short answer written assessments.
Progression will be possible onto an Extended Diploma in Engineering, or onto our Higher Education provision to study HNC or HND
