This qualification provides learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to use Computer Aided Design software to create objects in either 2D or 3D space.
Upon successful completion of this course, your knowledge in Computer Aided Design will be developed to a standard required for employment in any sector that uses technical drawings e.g. Mechanical Engineering; Building and Construction.
Following this programme, you will be able to:
Use a CAD Workstation Safely
Use Key Components in 2D CAD Software
Create Lines and Shapes Relative to Co-ordinates
Hatch and Simple Dimensioning Routines
Output 2D Drawing Layouts.
There are no formal qualifications required. However, a basic competency in the use of a PC computer and file management is necessary.
Assessment is through a combination of practical drawing tasks and short answer written assessments.
Progression will be possible onto an Extended Diploma in Engineering, or onto our Higher Education provision to study HNC or HND
