This qualification will develop the knowledge and skills of practitioners who wish to work as an internal quality assurer in their vocational area. The qualification is generic and applies across a wide sector of assessment and training but internal assurance must be of both portfolio evidence and practical assessment in the workplace, where this is relevant to a vocational qualification
The candidate IQA must be responsible for the IQA of the candidates of a minimum of two assessors across all the units of at least one qualification. Ideally be an experienced practitioner in the subject you wish to assess. Hold minimum of a level 3 qualification in the subject you wish to assess. Have a named counter signatory and mentor
A variety of assessment methods are used, including direct observation; asking questions; examination of work products; witness testimonies; recognition of prior learning/experience; reflective accounts; simulation; professional discussion; assignments or written tests
