This BSc (Hons) top up in Sports Therapy aims to prepare learners for a sports therapist career, by developing practitioners who can work autonomously and use critical reflection to draw upon experiences and knowledge to facilitate the performance of effective practice. The programme is designed to enable students who have already completed sub-degree (eg. HND or Foundation Degree) within this subject area to continue their studies on to Honors Degree level.

You will study on the Lincoln College Campus for the full duration of the course, using our dedicated sports therapy and training facilities and teaching areas.
1 – 2 days per week

It is expected that students complete between 10 and 12 hrs of additional independent study per week in order to be successful on this programme.
Whilst the sessions delivered at College will fall between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm, it is expected that students make themselves available to complete voluntary or work experience hours outside of these times. Many of the opportunities offered through the college will require commitment during evenings and weekends.
Applicants are required to have obtained:
• 120 credits from Level 5 study in a related discipline
• GCSE English – Grade C/4 or above
• GCSE Maths – Grade C/4 or above
EU and International applicants
• NARIC confirmed equivalent of 120 Credits
• IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English language qualifications are acceptable for applicants not requiring a Tier 4 student visa
There are typically 1-2 assessment tasks per module delivered. The assessment methods used throughout the programme include:
• Written assignment, including essay
• Practical skills assessment
• Oral assessment and presentation
The programme specification details the assessment strategy for each module, including the relevant task weightings.
Graduates of this programme will be well equipped to source employment within the following: local, regional and national sports teams or health and fitness centres as sports massage therapists, current sports therapy clinics, with professional athletes and/or teams, sports therapy teacher to education aspiring students.
Graduates could also become self-employed or start post graduate study.

Additional Course Costs
Sports kit - £130 (compulsory); DBS check - £44 (compulsory); Additional courses (optional) - varying costs
Additional compulsory course costs will be paid for using the Career Degree Bursary. The scheme allows students to access the remainder of the Bursary (up to a maximum value of £500 / £250) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Career Degree Bursary may do so at full cost to themselves. Details of payment dates will be provided prior to the course induction.

This course is validated by Bishop Grosseteste University. The validating
institution is responsible for awarding the qualification at the end of the
programme. Students on validated courses are HEFCE registered, funded and taught
at Lincoln College and it is the responsibility of the College to manage all
