Career Colleges are a new concept in education offering real industry job opportunities and input by guest speakers, site visits and projects to start your career in the sector. This course includes practical and theoretical elements of Brickwork, providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress. This programme will also offer you support, preparing you for the construction industry.
Successful completion of the Level 1 Diploma could lead onto progression on the Level 2 programme. This could lead to potential careers including: working within the construction industry and working as a bricklayer.
During the course, you will study: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction; Principles of Building Construction and Information and Communication.
You will need GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science (minimum Grade E or equivalent). You will also be required to pass a trade test as-well as a literacy and numeracy test. You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and online theory examinations.
