This course allows you to develop on your accounting skills and experience from Level 3, allowing you to progress within the sector and cover a wide range of accounting roles. The skills taught can be used within the financial sector; allowing you to work in a range of companies. Successful completion of this course may allow you to progress into Higher Education or into employment as an accountant. During the course of the programme, you will study: Financial Statements; Budgeting; Financial Performance and Internal Control & Accounting Systems. You will also be able to cover some of these optional units: Personal Taxation; Business Taxation; Credit Control; External Auditing and Managing Cash.
You will need to have completed a Level 3 AAT qualification and will be required to register with AAT to sit any examinations. If you have not had successive year progressions will be required to undertake diagnostic assessments in Costing and Accounting to determine your ability to study at Level 4.
Assessment is a combination of computer based tests and projects.
