This new course is an excellent choice those who want to learn how to animate using traditional and digital techniques. Learn how to create characters, make models, sequences and stories. Projects involve drawing, Claymation, title sequences, storytelling with traditional materials and digital software. Explore ways to edit sound, music and voice overs to produce animated sequences. This course is excellent preparation for level 3 study in Creative Media Production and ideal for those who want to pursue a career in animation, games design, Multi media, Visual Communications and web design. You will be based at our Newark campus which has a TV studio with adjoining control room and edit suites, MAC suites and access to a library well stocked with media books and periodicals.
You will need 3 GCSE’s preferably including English (minimum Grade 3) or produce a creative portfolio of audio/visual work. You will be required to attend an interview and undertake a short introductory project which you must demonstrate creative ability. You are also required to provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
There is no exam. Coursework is all internally assessed through a combination of interim and formal assessments at the end of each project. The final project is graded pass, merit or distinction.
