This course includes practical and theoretical elements of Carpentry & Joinery, providing you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress. This programme will also offer you support, preparing you for the construction industry.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Diploma could lead onto potential careers including: working within the construction industry and working as a joiner.
During the course, you will study: Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction; Principles of Building Construction, Information and Communication; Carry out First Fix Flooring and Roofing; Carry out Fix Frames, Partitions and Stairs; Carry Out Second Fix Operations; Carry Out Carpentry Maintenance; Set Up and Operate Circular Saw.
You will need to have successfully completed a Level 1 Carpentry & Joinery programme, GCSE’s in Mathematics and English (minimum Grade D or equivalent). You will also be required to pass a trade test as-well as a literacy and numeracy test. You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
