The FdSc Sports Therapy, Health and Fitness offers additional vocational qualifications alongside the main qualification. The following courses / qualifications may be available for selection:
Level 3 Sports Massage (non-pathological tissue)
Level 4 Sport and Remedial Massage (pathological tissue)
Level 2 Gym Instructors Award
Level 3 Personal Trainer

Study DetailsYou will study on the Lincoln College Campus for the full duration of the course, using our dedicated sports therapy and training facilities and teaching areas.
2-3 days per week
Course contact hours are typically comprised of:
7.5 hrs Theory sessions per week
6.5 hrs Practical / Seminal sessions per week
It is expected that students complete between 4 and 8 hrs of additional independent study per week in order to be successful on this programme.
Whilst the sessions delivered at College will fall between Monday and Friday from 9am – 5pm, it is expected that students make themselves available to complete voluntary or work experience hours outside of these times. Many of the opportunities offered through the college will require commitment during evenings and weekends.
GCE ‘A’ and ‘AS’ Levels
BTEC National (Diploma or Extended Diploma) in a relevant subject
Access to HE
Scottish Higher/Advanced Higher with at least one subject at Advanced Higher.
For mature applicants some experience may be taken in lieu of qualifications that carry UCAS Tariff points.
GCSE English – grade C or above
GCSE Maths – grade C or above
(Level 2 Functional skills is not taken as an equivalent)
EU and International applicants
NARIC confirmed equivalent of 64 UCAS points
IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum of 5.5 in each component. Equivalent English language qualifications are acceptable for applicants not requiring a Tier 4 visa

Graduates of this course can apply for progression onto the BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy Top Up course at Lincoln College.
On successful completion of FdSc, students can seek careers in a wide range of professions such as GP Referral coordination, sport therapy, health promotion or personal training.

Tuition fees will remain unchanged for the duration of a student’s continuous enrolment.
Additional Course Costs
Sports kit - £130 (compulsory); DBS check - £44 (compulsory); Additional courses (optional) - varying costs
Additional compulsory course costs will be paid for using the Lincoln College Bursary / Vocational Credit scheme. The scheme allows students to access the remainder of the Vocational Credit (up to a maximum value of £500 / £250) for additional optional courses, workshops, professional memberships and resources. There is no cash alternative. Students who wish to access opportunities in excess of the Vocational Credit may do so at full cost to themselves. Details of payment dates will be provided prior to the course induction.
