Plumbing is a programme that will provide you with the underpinning skills and knowledge to progress. This programme will also offer you support, preparing you for the construction industry.
Successful completion of the Level 3 Diploma could lead to potential careers including: working for a plumbing company or becoming self-employed.
During the course, you will study: Safe Working Practices in Building Services Engineering; Communication with Others within Building Services Engineering; Environmental Protection Measures; Scientific Principles within Mechanical Engineering Services; Site Preparation and Pipework Fabrication Techniques for Domestic Plumbing and Heating Systems; Domestic Cold Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques; Hot Water System Installation and Maintenance Techniques; Central Heating System Installation and Maintenance Techniques; Rainwater System Installation and Maintenance Techniques and Domestic Above Ground Drainage System Installation and Maintenance.
You will need to have successfully completed a Level 2 Plumbing programme, GCSE’s in Mathematics, English and Science (minimum Grade D or equivalent). You will also be required to pass a trade test as well as a literacy and numeracy test. You will be required to attend an interview and provide a reference (from an employer or recent school/college report).
Assessment is a combination of practical tests and written examinations.
