GCE AS Level in Maths Level 3

Mathematics at this level consists of the study of Pure Mathematics and the study of the application of mathematics to the physical world: Statistics (for understanding and interpreting information) and Decision Mathematics (for understanding the mathematics involved in Business and Computing).  The course develops understanding and resourcefulness in the use of mathematics. To gain the AS award, you will study two pure mathematics core units (C1 and C2) covering topics in algebra, trigonometry, calculus and coordinate geometry, amongst others, and the D1 application unit in Decision Maths

You will need 5 GCSEs (minimum grade C or equivalent), to include Mathematics (minimum grade B or equivalent). Exceptions can be made for mature students with equivalent qualifications or relevant experience.

Assessment is by written examinations.
