This programme is designed for progression from the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing VRQ or NVQ, the practising hairdresser or salon owner, to improve skill sets.
Successful completion of the NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing programme could allow you to progress onto a Level 4 Diploma in Salon Management course or into Teaching or Assessing within the industry. This qualification leads onto employment on Health Farms and Cruise Liners.
During the course, you will study: Providing Client Consultation Services; Creatively Styling and Dressing Hair; Creatively Cutting Hair Using a Combination of Techniques; Creatively Colouring and Lightening Hair; Providing Hair Colour Correction Services; Developing, Enhancing and Evaluating Your Creative Hairdressing Skills; Creating a Variety of Permed Effects and Contributing to Planning and Implementation of Promotional Activities.
You will need to have completed the VRQ/NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, have a 90% attendance rate and a satisfactory reference. Relevant practical experience will be taken into account.
To ensure you are on the correct programme, you will be required to attend a skills test if you have just completed your Level 2 Hairdressing qualification or have been out of the industry for some time.
Assessment is a through a combination of practical observations; written multiple-choice examinations and oral questioning.
