This can be used as a preliminary and preparatory year to the Access to Higher Education programme for those who do not meet the requirements to go straight onto the Access course. It is a full time course for people returning to education. Successful students should aim to gain four or more GCSEs at grades A-C enabling them to progress onto the Access to Higher Education Diploma course. Students will be expected to study a full time program of four subjects plus their weekly tutorial session.

GCSEs in English, Science and Maths. In addition GCSEs in Psychology and Sociology are offered. This course will include a tutorial and study skills element to help with learning and preparation for future study. Assessment for these GCSEs is by examination
Complete a diagnostic test for Maths and English
Have a successful interview.
Applicants must be aged 19 or over.
Work experience and previous qualifications will be taken into account, as well as your reasons for wanting to join the programme.
Assessment is by written examinations.
