This bespoke programme develops a range of skills, to promote and support greater independence in day to day living, for learners with learning difficulties and/or learning disabilities with complex and/or multiple support needs. Learners may need a high level of supervision (such as break and lunch time support) and possibly 1-to-1 learning support requirements. Learners are working from Pre-Entry to Entry Level. Study programmes – students follow an individualised programme of study, moving onto further learning, greater independence or work and adult life. All full-time programmes have the following strands of learning: • Vocational – practical skills in their chosen subject and area of learning interest • Functional Skills – English and Maths • Tutorials/Enrichment activities • Employability skills and personal development • Actual or simulated work experience in enterprise based activities.
Assessment is a combination of observation of practical and personal skills and a written portfolio of evidence.
