This is an employment based, 6-12 month programme. Learners, under 25 years of age, with learning difficulties and/or disabilities (with an EHC Plan) are given the opportunity to gain employability skills in the work place. The learner will initially be accompanied by a job coach who assists with the transition into work and helps build the relationship and understanding of needs between the employer and the student. Maths and English are also an integral part of this programme. The ultimate aim is for the learner to be offered paid employment at the end of it, so they must be ready for a working environment (albeit with guidance or support).
You must be aged 16 – 24 and have an Education Health Care Plan (if aged over 19) to qualify. You will be interviewed to identify any specific requirements and should also be working at Entry Level, Level 1 or Level 2. You must also show a willingness to work and a desire to progress.
Assessment is a combination of workplace mentoring and external exams in Mathematics, English and ICT.
Fees listed are for those aged 19 years and over only. Fees are subject to change, concessions may apply. Please note that where stated, fees are for the first year of a course only. Please contact us for information and advice.
