Employee Reward and Recognition Scheme
The success of The Lincoln College Group on its journey to extraordinary is attributable to the excellent contributions of our employees.
This page provides details of the various routes that extraordinary contribution is celebrated and rewarded in order to encourage a culture of praise and positivity.
“Extraordinary means being exceptional, remarkable, astonishing and amazing. None of these characteristics are a course or a programme, a building, a surplus or deficit budget, or a grade by a regulator. These characteristics describe the thoughts, actions and behaviours of our people to achieve great things. People who are committed to delivering everyday work to the very highest standard time and time again, who refuse to accept mediocrity or average. And people who innovate and are ingenious to create solutions to problems; and then deliver those creations.”
Gary Headland (Chief Executive Officer)
Rewards: Gifts exchanged for exceptional work or to mark a special occasion.
Recognition: Showing appreciation for key achievements made by your teammates.
Shining a light on extraordinary performance, the Spotlight Awards are designed to encourage recognition for employees when they go the extra mile.
Staff can be nominated at any time of the year by their managers or their peers/colleagues. Nominations are also welcomed from our students. Spotlight Awards can be awarded for specific and exceptional one-off achievements for example successful delivery of a major project or to a member of staff that has consistently contributed and performed above and beyond expectations.
It is a way for the College to formally say “thank you” to ensure that staff feel appreciated for their efforts and are committed to our vision to be an extraordinary organisation.
Every month we acknowledge the outstanding contribution made by our staff the Welcome and Achievement Event at Lincoln College’s restaurant, Sessions. We also take this opportunity to welcome our new starters to the organisation as well as acknowledging our staff who have achieved 20 years of continuous service.
Spotlight Award winners are presented with Perkbox vouchers which can be spent on a range of awards to suit different tastes incorporating individual choice as much as possible i.e. from shopping vouchers to Spotify and Netflix subscriptions.

Long-service awards are a way of saying thank you to our employees and recognising their contributions over 20 years of continuous service. Employees are awarded with £200 of vouchers to spend via Perkbox and are cordially invited to afternoon tea at Lincoln College’s restaurant, Sessions, located in the former city Gaol and judges’ chambers of the old courthouse to enjoy outstanding food and service provided by the Catering and Hospitality students.
As well as an exciting and rewarding career, employees have access to a wide range of benefits including Work Life Balance and Health and Lifestyle policies, Computer Purchase Scheme and reduced membership fees at Deans Sport and Leisure. Employees have easy access to our benefits via the 'Perkbox' platform.
What is Perkbox?
Perkbox is a team happiness platform that is free for all Lincoln College Group employees to use. All new employees are sent an activation email following their First Day HR Induction and once registered employees have access to over 200 perks, including:
As part of the HR Induction, the recruitment team will give each new starter a brief introduction to Perkbox and they will also be given a letter and user guide explaining what they need to do next to access the service. This means that all employees have access to our benefits programme from the very start of their employment.
Lincoln College employees can log in to Perkbox here: Log in to Perkbox
Further information on some of our Employee Benefits on Offer can be found via our online Employee Benefits Booklet.
Please don't hesitate to contact Jeannette Young (HR Officer) in the HR Unit if you have any further queries regarding our Employee Benefits.
