Civil engineering student scoops up construction award

Sophie Harwood who studies her apprenticeship at Lincoln College won the Apprentice/Young Achiever of the Year Award at the Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce Greater Lincolnshire Construction and Property Awards.

The awards were attended by over 350 people at the Doubletree by Hilton in Lincoln.

Sophie said: “I would just like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much to the judges who thought I was worthy of the award

“Walking through the door of the Waldeck BIM Academy as a Trainee CAD Technician over four and a half years ago, I never thought I’d be stood here tonight.

“It really is an honour to take home this award, thank you very much.”

Sophie's award was presented by Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts who shared that the judges were impressed by her enthusiasm and attitude towards her professional development as she excels in two roles within Waldeck's project delivery teams.

The ceremony also helped raise over £3,400 for the charity KIDS that supports over 15,000 disabled children, young people and their families by delivering over 120 services throughout England.
