Nine Lincoln College students participated in the regional heat of Skillbuild at Leicester College in four construction trade areas
The competition ran by CITB and held across the UK aims to bring together trainees and apprentices to compete in their chosen skill area, with the highest scoring students being invited to take part in a national final later in the year.
Lincoln College's Joshua Mather and Jordan Crawshaw were awarded first place for new entrant and in their advanced bench joinery categories.
Alice Lamont won first place for new entrant in her plastering category and Reece Maddock came third in the advanced plastering competition.
Andy Skeet, Lecturer at Lincoln College said: “All the students deserve great credit for representing the College to such a high standard.
“Competitions such as this give students the chance to pitch their skills against their peers, learn new techniques and gain experience of working to a brief, which all help them to be employment-ready for when they complete their qualification.”
Winner Alice said: “I am really pleased to have won and have enjoyed taking part, it has been a great competitive experience.
“Thank you to all the college staff who have helped us this year and for supporting us in the competition.”
