A group of 32 students and staff served a first-class luncheon to more 300 veterans, the youngest of which was 93 years of age, as part of the opening ceremony of the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln.
Lincoln College students and staff were proud to serve the veterans and their families.
Volunteering during their Easter break, the Lincoln College team joined over 135 military volunteers, along with a full event team, including security and performers as part of the celebration ceremony.
Gary Headland, Chief Executive of the Lincoln College Group, said, “We were pleased to be able to contribute to making this event such a success. We are very proud of our strong association with the Royal Air Force and the wider defence sector; Britain’s first Air & Defence Career College is based at Lincoln College generating highly skilled, motivated and air power minded young people to join the modern Royal Air Force. Today we were proud to serve Royal Air Force veterans, and their families, whose professionalism, dedication and honour was an inspiration to us all. Per Ardua Ad Astra.”
